New Year

So, again, it has been a while (about 3 or so years!) since I updated our blog. Needless to say there has been a lot that has gone one between then and now. So for now, I'm going to try to update once a week with some thoughts or memories I have had/made.

Annabella 7yr (2nd Grade)
This week we had conferences for the girls and they are coming along great in school. They are both very successful readers and love school. I can't believe they are already in 1st and 2nd grade!

They are also enjoying being on the Mini-dance team at Hearts In Motion and are looking forward to dancing before a Grand Rapids Drive game in February and then participating in some competitions this spring as well.

Annabella is a Brownie Girl Scout and is learning lots of things about conserving water and protecting our environment. She got to lead a meeting to help the girls earn a badge called "Money Manager." She prepared for it and did a wonderful job teaching and leading the meeting!

Lillan 6yr (1st Grade)
Lillian is a Daisy Girl Scout and is also learning about protecting the environment and leaning what it means to be Girl Scout. Her Daisy troop is going to work with the school to develop a composting program.

We are starting to plan a garden for the Spring; we even picked out some seeds yesterday at Meijer and have picked out others in the Seed Savers catalog that we got in the mail. Lil's first pick was carrots and Annabella's was Gaillardia, a type of flower. Mom picked True Lavender. Now if we could only get rid of that white stuff on the ground!

The girls and I have also started a Bible Challenge through my work, The Salvation Army. The Challenge is to read through the New Testament this year, along with others throughout the Central Territory (about 10 states). It is very cool to be able to read along side my girls and have conversations about Jesus. They are so sweet and eager to learn.

I think I'm going to wrap up for now, but hope to start sharing thoughts, musings and memories more often. I hope this will provide something for my kids to look back on for years to come.

Next time...I think I might talk about some goals I have for myself this year.

Grace + Peace

Jamie
